How to set up Spotify (one time, about 5 minutes)
On a computer, open developer.spotify.com/dashboard, log in with your Spotify account and choose Create app (any name, e.g. "Z-DASH").
Under Redirect URIs add exactly https://rbeaglemedia.github.io/z-dash/ (with the slash at the end) and tick Web API. Save.
Copy the app's Client ID (not the secret) into the box above, then tap CONNECT SPOTIFY on the phone and allow access.
Open Z-DASH from that same https link (Spotify only sends you back there). Start music in the Spotify app; Z-DASH shows it within a few seconds.
Spotify rules for personal apps (Development Mode, since Feb 2026): the app owner needs Spotify Premium, and only listed users (up to 5) can sign in. Add your Spotify email under User Management if asked. Play, pause and skip also need Premium and an active Spotify device. MUSIC SYNC uses the microphone only to hear the beat for Passenger Mode's ROAD game; nothing is recorded or stored.
